There were 2,845 dogs entered in the 138th Westminster Kennel Club show. They were eligible in 190 breeds and varieties. During the day, the dogs compete at each breed level. Each Best of Breed winner advances into its respective group, of which there are seven, which are Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding. Later that day, seven group winners advance into the final competition, which one judge will select one of them as the Best In Show winner.

Meet Sky, the 5-year-old wire fox terrier won best in show at the Westminster Kennel Club. Judge Betty Regina awarded Sky the honor of being America's top dog for 2014.Sky's handler is Gabriel Rangel. This was Sky's 129th best in show ribbon overall -- she became a Triple Crown winner in dogdom, too, having previously taken the National Dog Show and the top AKC event.

Because the WKC event attracts thousands of spectators and nearly three thousands dogs roaming around Madison Square Garden, one of the event's sponsors Stainmaster Pet Protect provided the carpet with its cushion system that resists most difficult pet stains and easily releases pet hair when vacuumed in the iconic WKC purple color in designated areas inside of Madison Square Garden.
