In no particular order the first breed making its debut in the “Non-Sporting Group” is Mexico’s Hairless Xoloitzcuintli (pronounced show-low-eats-queen-tlee) The Xolo comes in three sizes – toy, miniature and standard, ranging from about 10 to 50 lb. This hairless breed has a black or bluish gray sleek body, almond-shaped eyes, large bat-like ears, and long neck. With a calm temperament they make a good companion but their loyalty makes for a good guard dog. There are no breeders near North Ridgeville but you can go to http://www.xoloitzcuintliclubofamerica.org/ to find one.
The Finnish Lapphund will also make its debut but in the “Herding Group”. Originally from the Lapland region of northern Finland, Sweden, Norway and Russia. This breed was traditionally used by farmers to herd their reindeers. The Finnish Lapphund has a thick dense coat that comes in a variety of colors. They are an agile, alert and a noisy dog but when interacting with people they are calm, friendly and submissive.

The Norwegian Lundehund will be joining the “Non-Sporting Group”. Also known as a Puffin Dog this breed sports six toes on each foot for stability. They were once used to retrieve Puffin birds off of steep and rocky hills. Tom Cruise can stop looking for his next Mission Impossible sidekick! The Lundehund can actually hold themselves up spread eagle, without movie tricks, thanks to their skeletal structure and extra toes.
Their double coat is a reddish-brown, usually with a white collar, feet and tail tip.
These cute little pups are a fun and alert companion with a side of mischievous.

The Cesky Terrier will be competing in the “Terrier Group” at the Westminster. Closely looking like a Schnauzer, its long coat comes in a shade a gray from Charcoal to Platinum. They range in size from 10-13 inches high at the shoulder and are 16-22 pounds. This dog is a bit reserved towards strangers which will make for a great guardian, as they are very loyal to their owner. If you feel like this is the breed for you go to http://ceskyterrierfanciers.comfor a breeder. Unfortunately there are no breeders close to North Ridgeville.
The American English Coonhound will be joining the “Hound Group”. This wonderful addition to the Westminster will be something to see. Evolving from the Virginia Hounds this breed is strong and graceful with a great voice. The Coonhound is pleasant, alert and sociable with adults, children and dogs. With owning a Coonhound I can tell you they are a very gentle, lovely animal. They are eager to please and are easily trained.

Last but certainly not least the Entlebucher Mountain Dog will make its debut in the ring. This medium sized, tri-colored beauty will be competing in the “Herding Group”. This breed is hardworking and easy to train which makes him very desirable to own. With his desire to work he will be giving them a run for their money.
