500 years ago Ponce de Leon arrived in Florida and the Florida State Fair is inviting all Floridians to "Discover the Fun". The fair runs from February 7 to 18 at the 1-800-Ask-Gary Amphitheater off I-4 in Tampa.
The 2013 Florida State Fair features agricultural and cultural exhibits in their Discovery Center, a Tampa Bay History Center, and the Florida Cattelman's Ranching Museum. In "Cracker Country" visitors can experience the Learning Garden and Cow Hunter's Camp. And what is a state fair without music? This year's lineup includes a Broadway-style musical showcasing Florida history, Starship, The Bellamy Brothers and numberous other acts.
Rides, shopping, arts and crafts will return as fair favorites as well as the Mooternity Ward where calves are born throughout the run of the fair, equestrian events featuring draft horses, Pasofinos, mounted police demonstrations and even a donkey and mule show.
Experience new flavors too--in a way only a state fair can. Yes, at this year's Florida State Fair you can order up chocolate covered bacon.
“The 2013 Florida State Fair offers many cultural and agricultural highlights,” notes Charles Pesano, Executive Director of the Florida State Fair Authority. “We have added remarkable entertainment, fantastic exhibits and new features to this year’s State Fair that we know everyone of all ages will love.”
Adult tickets are $8, children ages 6 through 11 are $4 and kids five and under are free. Parking is free too!
