"The 100" will be premiering on CW and while a short sneak peek was released months ago, viewers want to know if the show will be worth watching. While it hasn't aired yet, The Trades revealed some answers to that question on Dec. 16.
Earth was no longer habitable, so humans had to leave their planet and have been surviving by living in orbiting space stations. Unfortunately, everyone is cramped because there simply isn't enough room. There are also a set of very strict laws and if one of them is broken for any reason, the punishment is death. The exception to that is if the offender is a minor... then the offender is imprisoned until they are 18.
To show how serious and strict those laws are, one of the characters was imprisoned simply for being a second child.
Based on the review that was published on The Trade's website, it definitely sounds like the show will be worth watching. R.J. Carter, who wrote the review had this to say,
"The pilot wastes no time getting the plot moving..."
That is always a good sign. It seems that there are so many shows that have promise, but who drag it out and end up boring viewers. Getting right to the point draws viewers in and it holds their attention. If they enjoy the premiere, then they will come back and watch the rest of the season.
"The 100" won't be focused on the cramped space stations, but on teenage prisoners that are being sent down to Earth. They are being used as guinea pigs to see if the planet is safe to return to or if it is still uninhabitable. One thing that readers should remember is that the teenagers have never been on Earth before and it doesn't look quite the same as it used to. There is also another surprise... that the planet is not as abandoned as everyone thought.
"The 100" sounds like it will be worth watching, but only time will tell what viewers think when it finally premieres in 2014 on CW.
