"The 100" was a pleasant surprise for the CW last season, and it's one of those shows that ended with a cliffhanger fans are eager to see played out. We were on hand in the press room at San Diego Comic-Con, and on Thursday, July 31, we uploaded our video interview with Devon Bostick to YouTube.
Check out the video interview above or here. Plus, keep reading for highlights from Bostick about what's coming up in season 2, though he couldn't say much.
"I always say the reason he survived that spearing is because nothing can beat Jasper's heart. No spear can break Jasper's heart," the actor shared. That said, he thinks that Jasper has had PTSD since he was speared, but because of the war, he was distracted by people trying to kill them.
So where is Jasper when season 2 begins? Well, we know it picks up right where season 1 left off. "I was with the group when the gas canisters came in and the Mountain Men raided us, so I think it's pretty fair to say Jasper's in Mount Weather," Bostick did say, but all he'd say about how his character reacts to the situation is, "He's gone through a lot, so it could be either really good or really bad," "it could be very troublesome for many of the characters," and "there's probably two ways you could react in a situation like this: it either seems great or terrifying."
What could he reveal about Mount Weather? "I think what's so cool about season 2 is we're going to explore a world that we've never seen before, just like the first season," he previewed. "With this, we're going to see what Mount Weather is. Within Mount Weather, there's so many corridors and twists and turns and there's going to be things in there that will be very freaky and eerie."
With this show, just because you think you know what's going on doesn't mean you do. "It's never just black and white," he said. Even with the Grounders, they showed their perspective; the 100 came down and disrupted their world. "Whether we're right or wrong, there's so much more to uncover that we haven't seen and that none of our characters know is going on."
Will Murphy be back in season 2? "Murphy's like a cockroach," according to Bostick. "I feel like you just can't get rid of him. You can stomp on him a thousand times, and he's still going to be hiding behind the toilet. I don't know what I can say about him, but Murphy somehow survives everything and he's just a never-ending force of evil. But maybe we will see another side, I don't know."
Remember, check out the video for much more from Devon Bostick, including about a possible new love interest for Jasper, his most shocking season 1 moment and more. "The 100" season 2 premieres Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 9 p.m. on the CW.
