Thats What I Think 03-11-2014

Greetings again my friends from my "feeling like I'm back in high school getting teased by the hot chick just cause she wants to copy my homework thanks to our moody weather" corner of the world. I hope by now we have all "SPRUNG FORWARD" and changed those clocks. If not, maybe that explains how your week has gone. Spring is officially just a few weeks away, we have staggered through Fat Tuesday so that means one of the biggest party weekends of the year is upon us and there is a bunch of stuff going on to help you get your "Irish" on. Lets get to it, shall we?

First off, here is a cool idea. Why not celebrate everything Irish at an Italian cafe? Answer....WHY NOT?? The fine folks at MILANO Cafe on Elida Road is celebrating St Patty's Day with some great Irish food and equally as tasty entertainment. Corned beef and cabbage will be on the menu along with a stacked Reuben sandwich. To quench that thirst plenty of Irish liquid refreshment will be served to go along with it. The tasty treat doesn't end there. "THEM KIDS" will be on hand for all your listening, dancing and partying enjoyment. Do something just a little different this year. Celebrate St Patty's Day at The MILANO Cafe.

Lets say you want to get some music nourishment before you head to MILANO Cafe, its still early in the day, where are you going to go? What will you do? Head on down Robb Ave about, say 2 pm or so, swing into the parking lot of GILBERT'S Music and treat yourself to a music matinee. I'm not sure who the 2 pm act will be BUT I am sure at 3 its Mama Spaz & "Them Kids". Sounds fun so far right? At 4 pm its the world famous "Hooten Hallers" on stage..Really and best part its free and its an all ages show. How cool is that? Bring the neighborhood. The more the merrier.

If you think Saturday sounds good so far it just gets better. Our good friends at Pappy's are bringing in everybody's favorite party band The Indoorfins from 2-6 to get the party started. Now ordinarily that would be fine in itself but Pappy's is cranking up the party temperature by welcoming The Hooten Hallers Saturday night. Now you have TWO chances to see them. That phase of the party starts about 9. Hey do me a favor. PACK THE PLACE....REALLY SRO OUTSIDE. Summer & Jen will be tending to your drink needs and they can't wait to see your smiling faces. Tell them I sent you....

I know its a few weeks away but time seems to fly and I don't want you to miss it so I'm going to remind you early. Make sure you pencil in Sunday March 30th for the next Greater Allen County Blues Society blues jam at the K of C hall right behind Happy Dayz on Cable Road. Starting time is 5, its only a few bucks to get in, the drinks are always cold, the food is reasonably priced, music is off the hook and I really must say its worth it just to see Minor Blues perform. This months host band is The Zach Laffin Band. I'll see you there.

That's it for now. Have a safe St Patrick's Day weekend. Remember the DD. Its cheaper and safer...And also remember, we can support the local music community, just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.

As always
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
