Greetings my friends from my little dusty corner of the world. Feeling confident we all had a highly productive week. Speaking for myself, for once I can say ME TOO. A lot to get to this time around so LETS GET IT ON!!
We're going to go right instead of left here for a minute and drop a little music review on you. I had a chance to score a copy of the "BLOCK PARTY" MIXTAPE CD recently released by the one and only DJ OLDSKOOL from 93.9 KISS FM. I'm the first one to admit yours truly is not a mix tape expert. But I do consider myself a music fan and a pretty good judge when it comes to a music product. This ladies and gentlemen is good. Really good. It takes you back when a club DJ was the engineer of the nights party train. Its very well done and yes it is acceptable for all ears. It grooves. It makes ya wanna move. Get your own copy. See if you don't agree? Next time DJ OLDSKOOL is anywhere, ask him how you can get one of your own, cause I'm keeping mine.
This is a little early but I want you to have time to plan. Coming up Thursday February 7th @ 8 pm and Friday February 8th @ 9 pm, the funny folks from Limaland Comedy are presenting Dave Dugan live at The MILANO CAFE. Mr Dugan has written for and appeared on numerous Bob and Tom shows as well as their CDs and has been featured on HBO. This is a really big deal folks. Tickets are only $10 for the show, which leaves you plenty of cash leftover for some of the great MILANO pizza and those HUGE mozzarella cheese sticks. You can find all the info on Facebook( can't you always) as well as the Limaland Comedy website. Don't miss this show!
Hey now, just because its not 80 and sunny does not mean you can't go visit your friends at Indian Lake. Brothers Bar & Grill is giving you a big reason to make the drive. $200! That my friends is the first place prize in their big chili cook off coming up Sunday February 10th. The catch is you need to sign up by this Saturday February 2 @ 5 pm. So get yourself entered, get that recipe perfected and get ready to rumble( pun intended).
And, while I am on the food topic. You really must check out the $4 Texas Breakfast that Frank @ The Firehouse serves up. 2 eggs, 2 meats, hb, toast and coffee. Yes you heard right $4! Open M- F 8 am! So there ya go.
And I need to send a big thanks to Adria @ Louie's Nite Club. Had a killer lunch there the other day, something she called a BRUISER steak sandwich. This thing was HUGE! Belly buster for sure! Get one for yourself!
There are going to be so many Super Bowl parties going on I don't have near the room to tell you about them all. So my advice is, just go to them all! Make a day of it! See that was easy. That's it for now. Remember we can all support the local scene, just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.
As always
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it to it twice
