That's What I Think 12-16-2013

Greetings again my friends from high atop of the magic mountain we call Tapioca Tundra( only because I'm trying to cut down on my use of four letter words) just counting the days till spring, which by the way is March 20th if you care. I trust everyone survived the first big snowstorm of the season and if you are like me, in this case ONE IS ENOUGH! REALLY! !! LET ME UP I'VE HAD ENOUGH. Now that I've got that out of my system, lets get on with it.

One of the casualties of last weekends snow storm was the big debut of NJ George's new project, PSYCHODYNAMICS, at the Firehouse Saturday night. Everything that I have heard is indicating rescheduled date coming up I would believe in 2014(that's only a few weeks away remember) so when I get a date I will let you know.

Before the big storm hit Friday night, Harry's Hideaway on North Cable Road was rocking courtesy of TWISTED TOYLAND, a benefit to help fund Christmas for the kids at Safe Harbor, presented by Blackbird Promotions. I wasn't able to stay the entire night but I must say that Life Within,Our Final Prayer & Approaching Insanity( a little more info on two of those bands later) just rocked the walls and like I said all for a good cause. I understand the next undertaking for the folks from Blackbird will be "FURRY FURY" . A big time Furry Party deep in a RAVE type vibe with special guest DJ OLDSKOOL spinning the wax. That happens Jan 10th at Harry's Hideaway to benefit Deb's Dogs.

Coming up this weekend, the above mentioned Approaching Insanity AND Our Final Prayer will be among the rockers peeling off the paint downtown Lima at The Avalon this Friday Dec 20th. Get there early if ya wanna rock.. The place fills up fast...

Coming up Saturday night at Lombardo's on N Main, it your chance to catch the last area performance of the local legend Jim Miller when the Hipsters rock the home of Stromboli. Jim's leaving the area and if you have never heard one of the area's best axemen this could be your last chance. They strike up the band about 9 so you will need to get there early because it will fill up fast.

That should just about do it for this time around. As a result of the way the days fall this year I will give you my year end wrap up next week. Also let me take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry And Safe Christmas( since we may not "chat" until after Christmas) and remember we can support the local scene. Just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.

As always
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
