Greetings again my friends from yet another drained, as a result of being too emotionally and physically invested in sports corner of my world. Two weeks in a row man, it is just getting too darn hard to be a fan anymore. Maybe I should just let it go. Not care....I would be so much better off. Oh did I mention 4 out of my fantasy football teams are in the playoffs and MLB opening day is just a few months away? Yep, really should not care about sports....at least not as much.
One thing I do care about it is local "stuff" and I've got plenty to tell you about this time around.
Stopped by the Firehouse Bar & Grill the other day during their Happy Hour and man almost every seat at the bar was taken. I don't know if it was the fact it was nice and toasty warm, they have great prices during their weekday 5-7 happy hours or everyone wanted to see Frankie's smiling face, but the neighborhood crowd was in full force. Maybe its time you see why the Firehouse is still pulling them in after all these years. AND if you need some real motivation besides great drink prices and a warm place to hang out , head up N Main Street this Saturday for the debut of "PSYCHODYNAMICS", the new project headed up by NJ George. You KNOW it is gonna rock, so why hear about it the next day on Facebook. Plan on it.
Don't forget this Friday 13th Blackbird Promotions welcome " BIOGENISIS" to Lima for "Twisted Toyland". Its a fundraiser to help provide a Christmas party for the kids at Safe Harbor and to help out the ACCS Adopt A Family program. There are some great opening bands and the one and only GROAMY will be the DJ for the night. Doors open at 6. And the party continues Saturday night with Brother Believe Me hitting the Harry's stage. Going to be a rocking weekend on N Cable Road.
Saturday night is also the 3rd Annual Not So Silent Night Adopt A Family Benefit at Mulligans on High Street. Lots of live music, guest bartenders, food, Raffles and all sorts of stuff to help raised as much $$$ as possible. Stop up even its only for a bit, its for a good cause.
I know its a little early but thought I would give you a heads up about some future events.
Coming up the Saturday before Christmas, the 21st to be exact, The Indoorfins will be entertaining the masses at Pappys Lounge to help take some of the sting of that final push of Christmas shopping.
The Avalon will be rocking downtown Lima as only they can with Approaching Insanity, Our Final Prayer and Losing September also on that Saturday. Those are just two of the cool things happening the next to last weekend of 2013. I'll run down more next time and I'll remind you of what I've already told you, cause I know how forgetful you are.
That's it for now. Remember we can all support the local scene, just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
