Greetings again my friends from a very exhausted because I went to a 4 hour plus 2 hour round trip show and have not been to bed yet. Unless you count the snooze I took while the coffee brewed. It was worth it though. September is almost over, fall is here and as soon as we can finally kiss the 80 degree days goodbye, then summer is really over. Not complaining. 80 degrees is always better than 8 degrees....RIGHT? Alright then, let's get started, shall we?
Ventured over to Ft Henry this past weekend to the WENDELIN TAVERN for what I guess you could say was sort of a, bittersweet celebration. It was a farewell to fans from the group Country Mile. Country Mile recorded their first CD over 11 years ago(has it REALLY been that long?) and yours truly was blessed to be able to witness the beginning of the Country Mile and watch them blossom into the Country Mile everyone enjoyed this past Saturday. Several more CD's followed, as well as some very successful single releases, thousands of miles were traveled, hundreds of gigs played, they opened for some of the biggest acts in country music and last Saturday was their chance, as Country Mile, to say thank you, go out as they wanted and deserved, leaving the crowd wanting more, and they did just that. Thanks to all "the boys in the bands", especially Curt and Chris Cramer, both there from the beginning to the goodbye. It's been fun watching you walk those "MILES".
Just a quick public service announcement before we go any further, the Sugar Street Bar & Grill is the home of some of the best pizza I've had in ages. That's not all! They also have one of the best food deals around. TACO TUESDAY, when you can score some amazing tacos for only $1 per. Sooo, what you COULD do is, is order a pie, then score a few tacos to have for a snack while you wait for your pizza. Just a thought. We now return to our regular programming..
For all those who say there is nothing different to do, I, have one word for you...YOU ARE WRONG!!!!!! Ok, maybe 3 words and, here is why. Coming up this Sunday, The Greater Allen County Blues Society is, hosting their monthly blues jam at the Lima Eagles. It starts at 5:00 & the month's host band is Never Again. AND don't forget Lima's premier youth band, Minor Blues will also be on stage and if for,no other reason, you MUST go just to see these young people. That's this Sunday, September 29!!! See you there...
That's it for now. Remember, we can all support the local scene, just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.
If ya dig it.do it
If ya really dig it
