Greetings again my friends from my, I can't believe school is getting ready to start but that means football is coming so its cool, corner of the world. I seems like we were just jumping up and down for joy that spring was finally here and here we are on the downslide of summer already. I think maybe because we didn't really have many of those HOT summer days that it just doesn't seem like summer is almost over. I predict (like I know anything) September will bring us those "HOT SUMMER DAYS"..hey maybe if I'm right I could do weather for a living. ..HEY KYLE ADAMS! !! Whatta think?
Anyway, before I make any sudden career changes, let's get to the job at hand. ..
First thing on my list is an enormous CONGRATULATIONS to Kat and Geoff (you know..."Them Kids") on their engagement and upcoming nuptials. Honestly it is so rare to find a couple who just seem to be just so in tuned with each other and compliment each other like Kat & Geoff do in so many ways. Don't believe me? You're invited to see for yourself this Thursday and every Thursday when they host the open mic night at Mulligan's on High in downtown Lima. It usually kicks off around 9 & as long as the weather hangs in there, the party is outside at one of the coolest "outbacks" around. If you need more motivation, the drinks are always ice cold and you never know who may show up to play a few on the Mulligan's outdoor stage. Trust me , it'll be fun.
I'm always very happy to spread the news about yet another All Ages show and coming up this Saturday, August 16th is a big one. "THRAXFEST" is the official name of the event and its happening in Auglaize County at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds. It starts @ 6:30, the price is right @ only $8 in advance or $10 @ the gate, and a lineup that just, well, rocks.
Haunting Havens, Two Dragons, Alara, Cutthroat Capitalist, The Weight of Us and the farewell performance of A Ghost In The Walls. In my opinion I just think it is so awesome that more folks have seen the value in holding All Ages shows. Show your support.
Don't forget another Rally In The Square coming up this Friday. Season is winding down so if you haven't made the trip downtown to enjoy the festivities, make an effort to come down this weekend. You would be amazed who you may run into.
That's it for this time around. Remember, we can ALL support the local entertainment scene, just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
