That's What I Think 08-03-2014

Greetings again my friends from my, are we really talking about football already didn't summer just start, corner of the world. Where has the summer gone. I realize that has been a re-occurring theme the past few weeks, but kids its August and school will be starting for some folks in just a few weeks! Crap!!! Have I mentioned lately how much I really, really, REALLY HATE WINTER!!! Just in case you forgot.. I really hate winter. Now that little rant is out of my system, let review a few things you may have missed last week and drop some knowledge(trying to sound hip) on ya about things happening...

Really need to start off and send congrats to the organizers of LIMA LIVE. The weather was almost perfect for the event, the entertainment that was booked was outstanding(sorry no one hit wonders or didn't they used to be bands this year), and from what I understand all things went off without a major "incident". Which is very cool. The downtown businesses enjoyed a good weekend business wise from what I have been told, so I say it was a win/win all the way around. Good job to all, especially to all the volunteers and a special HUGE pat on the back to Bart Mills. As always, above and beyond the call of duty...

If you haven't ventured out Thursday nights to the open mic night at Mulligan's, you are cheating yourself out of a great night of just kick-ass music. I am serious. Thursday night open mic night is hosted by the talented Kat and Geoff(which in case you didn't know are Them Kids) and they never fail to entertain and most of the time just knock everybody off their feet with their set. I mean, come on..when was the last time you heard The Wallflowers, or Pink Floyd or Bill Withers and original music all in the same 90 minutes??? Don't know do ya? Then on top of that, throw in various incarnations of several bands from the area, its a great night of just great music. Last week, I saw a stripped down 3/4 version of Sunset Junkies. Awesome...A 2/3 version of Samax...Awesome and that was before 11 pm...It starts at 9, if its nice they play under the stars and don't let the traffic revisions throw you, If I can figure it out, you can too. See you there.

Coming up Friday August 14th right after the Rally in The Square, Polly Mae & Band will be playing a no cover charge show at the Lima Elks, on W North Street. The show starts @ 9 pm and yes public is welcomed. Slide on up(you are only going to be a few blocks away) after the Rally and roll with Polly Mae.

If you are looking for something completely different, boy do I have something for you. Its called Lima's Premier Paint & Sip Studio. It is located right across the street from The Meeting Place @ 215 W Market Street. Lima's Premier Paint & Sip Studio parts the "ART" in PARTY... What is it you asked? Its a great way to just chill. This is huge in the bigger markets and there is no reason it shouldn't be here also. It's a chance to express yourself with a paint brush, sip some great wine, hang out with your friends and maybe make some new ones. Check them out on Facebook, their website is or you can also call for info and reservations 419-605-3840
Tell them you read about them here..

That's it for now my friends. Remember we can all support the local scene, just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.

As always
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
