That's What I Think 04-16-2014

Greetings again my friends from my, I thought I'd live dangerously so I went out twice this past week without a jacket of any kind, corner of the word. I do realize that is not "that" big a deal for some folks but for someone who spent 5 out of the last six months wearing an extra five pounds of clothes just to drive to the grocery, its a pretty big deal. We are starting to hear chatter about the Rally in the Square new season and proms are right around the corner so I really REALLY do believe its finally spring. Unlike the Easter Bunny we aren't going to make you hunt for knowledge about the local entertainment community. It's all right here.

First off, in case you are living in a PS3 cave, this Saturday April 19 is National Record Store Day. For those of you who aren't sure what a record is, no they are not meant to be broken, but cherished, cleaned and protected so they may be enjoyed for years to come. In my opinion there is no better way to listen to a new album than on a crisp brand new, just out of the sleeve record jacket piece of round music bliss. There is something about looking at all the pictures, the art work and reading every word over and over while that plate of musical delight spins on that turntable. That's what National Record Store Day celebrates. Our local "all things vinyl" guru GROAMY has a HUGE day planned to entice and encourage the fresh vinyl lovers or those who strayed and are coming home. It all starts at ten. Robb Ave. GROAMYS!!! National Record Store Day. BE THERE!!!

Have you ever heard of a 4 hour Happy Hour? Well you have now. Monday -Friday 3:30-7:30 its Happy Hour at Mulligan's, 134 W High in beautiful downtown Lima. Now for most establishments that would be enough, but Mulligan's just won't stop there. Wednesday its CRASHED Karaoke, Thursday nights it's open mic night with the lovely and talented Kat. This Friday its Name That Tune AND... on Saturday its JFX. Really I'm serious. Everyone else should be embarrassed. That's almost a week full of reasons for you to head up. Don't you be the one who had to "hear about it" the next day...

Coming up Saturday April 26th at the Smokin Chrome Saloon in Delphos is the Zombie Prom. All the cool stuff from prom but instead of stuffy chaperones, show offs and general BS, there will be zombies,a killer Zombie Band, food, 50/50 drawing and a professional photographer to capture it all. Catch is you must be 21 or over, wear zombie makeup and be clothed in prom attire. Pre sale tix are for sale for only $10 at the Saloon right now.And they are are going fast. Don't wait until the last minute and try and get in the night of the event. Besides that its gonna be $15!! This is a non profit fundraiser for the 3rd annual Delphos Zombie walk in October. Come on. Its your chance to "party your brains out" cause you know there will be someone there to pick 'em up!

That's it for this time. Remember we can all support the local entertainment community. Just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.

As always
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
