Greetings again my friends from my chilly and not happy about it corner of the world. We have now officially entered into March, so Spring is just weeks( I prefer days) away! Its on to March Madness, Marchocolate, Marching Ants but personally I would rather March my way right into temperatures above 45 during the day and not below 40 at night. Guess its coming, Hey we can all have our dreams can't we? Big stuff to talk about this time around so lets not waste anytime.
A few weeks ago, if you recall, I mentioned that one of the most familiar faces from the downtown Lima scene, Ronnie Daley from Louie's Nite Club on N Main, had fallen ill with some serious illnesses. And as we all knowing, with serious illnesses comes even more serious BILLS...BIG BILLS!!! Honestly, it seems no matter how hard you may plan, with these types of things hit, it can be devastating to your financial well being. That is why Ronnie's friends and customers( actually one in the same) have gotten together to throw a big party if you will to raise some $$$$ to help out "one of the good guys". Its called "ROCKIN 4 RONNIE DALEY", thats right " ROCKIN 4 RONNIE DALEY"!!!The date is April 20,2013 and its happening at Louie's Nite Club. Planning is under way for this great cause and you can help. Bands, soloists, duo's, all you musical folks, YOU CAN HELP! I understand there are some times slots left for this show, and please if you can help, DO SO! The fund raiser will kick off around 2 with some preliminary fun and games and then the entertainment is due to kick in around 4 or 5 I understand( don't really remember, sorry) so as you see this is going to be a big deal and YOU CAN HELP MAKE IT EVEN BIGGER!!!!! "ROCKIN 4 RONNIE DALEY" @ Louie's Nite Club...BE THERE..

Since we mentioned spring a few lines up, that means its NASCAR time and with the season off to a smoking start, all the fans are looking for a place to catch the races and maybe grab some great grub....Well now that you mention it, there is a place. Continuing the downtown theme, its the all new and improved Porter Pub across the street from the ACSO ( notice I didn't say jail). Check em out. New owners & new attitude!
If you aren't near downtown Lima and you want to take a little "Sunday drive" , head over to see our friends in Beaverdam at Thirsty's Food & Spirits. They too are open for NASCAR( BIG SCREEN), kitchen is open and the beverages are cold. What more could you ask for? Maybe a comedy night? Gotcha covered. Saturday March 9 and tickets are still available for the 6 pm show( as of this writing) and the 9 pm show is sold out.Ring them up to check 419-643-8250.
