That's What I Think 02-10-2014

Greetings again my friends from my "I don't know how much more of this winter #### I can take, corner of the world. I just read our area has been blessed with over 40" of snow so far this season and if that's not depressing enough, its more than a few cities in Alaska. REALLY...One of the few times we get to score ahead of somebody and its in snowfall totals!!!! All I gotta say is all this snow and cold better have killed every bug and germ that comes out when the weather warms up. Spring is about 5 weeks away and MLB starts in less than two months so I can "see the end in sight". Now that my weather induced tirade has worked it's self out, let move on shall we?

There is a lot going on in the area this weekend and I'm going to do my due diligence and make you aware of a few of the many. First off I'm thrilled to be able to let you in on some great entertainment news. This Friday AND Saturday the "legendary" Mike Mingo will be performing at the Lima Eagles, 800 W Robb, just a few blocks from GROAMYS and GILBERT'S. Friday will be Remembering the 60's night with no cover charge and Saturday will be "something completely different" and entertaining as all get out. Cover is only $5 for Saturday and of course the "King of all bad moods", GROVER, will be on hand both nights. No you don't have to be a member and yes, the food is excellent. This doesn't happen very often so take advantage.

I know this is a little off the normal path but Angels For Animals is having a very cool Valentine's Day open house from 1-4. They will have sweets for us humans and give you a chance to meet your new fur-ever best friend. Trust me as a pet owner, every day is an adventure. Angels For Animals, 211 S Greenlawn, Elida.....Tell them you heard about their event here.

As we head on down the road to N Cable Road at Harry's Hideaway the folks from Blackbird Promotions are giving you something different on Valentine's Day with "Show Some Love". A night of great stand up comedy and acoustic music is on tap. Its going to be fun. You can find out more on their Facebook pages.

Just a few things before I depart. If you missed the " Zombie Karaoke" at The Alibi you missed a night of great fun and tunes. Congratulations on thinking out of the box folks. Keep a watch out for another version.
AND...I had a chance to hang out for a few hours at the new home of the Greater Allen County Blues Society's Blues Jam, The K of C and had a blast. This one was rescheduled from January with host band Will Freed and if you weren't there, shame on you! It happens the last Sunday of every month and cover is only $3. You get a chance to hear some players you normally don't hear play together and the future of local music, Minor Blues. Cool thing is we get a "bonus" this month because of the extra one from January so you have no excuse. Starts at 5 pm!!! EARLY!

That's it for now. Remember we can all support the local scene just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.

As always
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
