Greetings again my friends from my, I have never been so happy for it to be 40 degrees and raining all day Saturday , corner of the world. Hey it's just the little things sometimes that make a day but I must say, when I say look out my window and not only see parking lot pavement, but a huge percentage of the snow and ice has been reduced to harmless, yet still messy slush, I feel a little warm and runny inside.Sadly my elation over concrete quickly turned to winter "blues" again when Sunday morning rolled around. But that's ok. Maybe its the forced hibernation or the fact that I look like the Michelin man everytime I walk out my door but at this point, rainy and 40 the first weekend in February is almost like sunny and 75(well maybe not but you get the idea). Soooo, if I can summon up the strength after eating the biggest plate of nachos I have ever had while watching the Super Bowl, lets get on with the show shall we?
Coming up this Friday at The Alibi is one of the coolest things I have heard about in a while. Zombie Karaoke. Yes Zombie Karaoke to celebrate the return of everyone's favorite "Zombie" show, The Walking Dead to the airwaves this Sunday. We all know The Alibi is Karaoke central in the area, and this Friday they are adding a little demented twist to it. They are encouraging all customers to come dressed up as their favorite zombies. Not sure how to do it, don't worry they have that covered. Special zombie make up artists will be on hand to "zombie you up". Its going to be fun. It starts at 9. See ya there. After all, every once in a while, we all need an "Alibi", right?
Coming up Saturday at Milano's its the always fun GILBERT KARAOKE. Milano's is the home of some of the best pizza and THE BEST cheese sticks I have ever had. Get there early order some great Milano's food and get ready for a fun night... Hey just wanted to let you know, one of my favorite seasons has been seen hanging out and looking pretty comfortable behind the bar at Pappy's Lounge on W North Street, just across the street from SRMC. Want to know who it is? I guess you need to stop by every day until to figure it out, right?
Don't forget coming up this Sunday is the rescheduled Blues Jam at the K of C with host band The Will Freed Band. I'm so looking forward to it, I can't stand myself. Starts at 5 I believe, you don't have to be a member and while you are there, don't forget to wish Mr Freed a belated happy Birthday....
I guess that's it for now. Remember we can all support the local scene, just go to something somewhere(no excuse there is a BUNCH of the stuff going on) At least that's what I think.
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
