That's What I Think 01-14-2014

Greetings again my friends from my, "never so glad to see dry pavement in my life" corner of the world. After surviving the "VORTEX" and a nasty spill that turned into a much bigger health issue than I ever could have imagined, I am rested, recharged, and ready to blow this pop stand I inhabit. That whole "cabin fever" thing is a nasty thing and glad that week is over. Time to move on...

I know I'm sounding like a broken record but once again Pepper and company at The Avalon have some great music scheduled for us lovers of live music. This weekend, Saturday January 18th, The Rummage, Shudder, Them Kids and Sunset Junkies will be rocking downtown Lima. And as almost to prove a point that The Avalon is serious about live music, coming up January 24th Acoustic Americana Country Folk artist Jordan Morgan Landsdowne will be making a special appearance at 36 Town Square....How cool is that!? Both shows start at 10 pm but get there early to claim your "spot"...

Full house this past Friday for the Furry/Rave party put on by Blackbird Promotions. KISS 93.9 FM'S DJ OLDSKOOL was like a musical GPS, directing the dance floor through thumping beats and major cosmic off the hook remixes. $$$$ was raised for Deb's Dogs, which is very cool. The next event on tap for BBP at Harry's Hideaway will be Valentine's Day. Stay tuned for details.

I'm going to stray from our normal topics and lay a little knowledge on you and maybe help you out. OK with that? So we are all connected to each other thanks to phones, pads, laptops, desktops and now even watches and the common denominator is the internet. And as we have all found out, there are some real a$$$ who delight in spreading viruses, worms and doing what they can to make out lives miserable. If you've ever had to deal with that or you are now you know you need someone who "REALLY" knows what they are doing not just someone who "works on computers". If a repair is necessary you want the good stuff saved, the bad stuff purged and all the personal stuff kept, personal. That's why YOU NEED to go to Doc's Computer Service on N Main, just a few blocks from St Gerard's and Chiefs Northland. They are closed on Mondays but open the rest of the week. DOC'S COMPUTER SERVICE....trust me on this. Oh and they can put your old recordings on the "new" media too. Trust me on this. And ITS LOCAL.......

Heard an interesting rumor the other day that one of the driving forces behind a couple of the bands we all remember is putting together a new project and promises to blow everyone away and guarantees it to be unlike anything the area has seen. I know a few more details but sworn to secrecy. As soon as I can tell you I will.

That's it for now. Remember we can all support the local scene, just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.

As always
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
