Greetings again my friends from my, Mother Nature has a crappy sense of humor, corner of the world. And since my desk is in front of a window, I may be forced to type with gloves on so I apologize in advance if there are a few "errors" that may seem, well just a little odd. I trust you all made the obligatory trips to the stores and carry outs and bought more than you really needed of stuff you don't normal buy but it sounded like a good idea. Think of all the French toast that can be made with all that extra milk, bread and eggs you have at home. Right? Its going to get better my friends, each day is one day closer to spring.
There was a lot of stuff canceled and postponed due to the nasty gift Mother Nature dropped in our lap so keep an eye peeled for updates and the like. One such event was the season opener of The Lima Express, Lima's own professional basketball team. The game and festivities have been rescheduled for Sunday January 12 @ 3 pm at LCC. If you have tickets for last weeks game, they are still good. Lets pack the house and support THE LIMA EXPRESS!
Hey listen if you are like me and don't mind driving a few miles to score some really good food then you NEED to head on down S. Dixie Highway to Cridersville and get one of THE BEST BURGERS you have ever had at The Village Cafe. Treat yourself. Its been a crappy weather week, you deserve it. Tell them you read about it here.
So according to all weather sources we should be close to thawing out by Thursday so you should have no excuse to NOT head up to W High Street in downtown Lima to Mulligan's for open mic night with KAT. It will be warm inside, drinks will be the only thing chilly and the music will be top notch. Great thing about open mic night is you never know who will show up. I'm telling you its going to be a blast.
Hey looking for a place to watch football now that your team is out of it and all your friends are staying home? LOMBARDOS. Yep The home of SCRAMBOLI and a menu FULL of amazing food could be your new favorite place. New screens all positioned so if its a cheerleader or a pass play you are watching, its all right there in front of you. Like CHEERS in HiDef.
They are on N Main, just across the tracks. Stop up and stay a spell. You'll be glad you did.
Don't forget coming up this Friday at HARRY'S HIDEAWAY, its FURRY FURY to benefit local animal rescue shelter, DEB'S DOGS. FURRY FURY is a Rave/ Furry party with thumping tunes by DJ OLDSKOOL from 93.9 KISS FM. Doors open at 9, glow sticks and thumping and bumping start at 10. Be there.
That's it. I managed to finish this while the temps were double digits, on the positive side. Remember we can all support the local scene, just go to something somewhere. At least that's what I think.
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice.
