Thassa's Ire from "Journey Into Nyx"
Wizards of the Coast

Thassa's Ire is one of the newest blue "Magic: The Gathering" cards from Wizards of the Coast's expert expansion set "Journey Into Nyx." Thassa's Ire will be an MVP in limited, where it will allow you to keep your rival's threats at bay, block with tapped creatures, or clear a path for your attackers.

Thassa's Ire - U
Enchantment (Uncommon)
3U: You may tap or untap target creature.
The sailor had never seen a god before. Now she had gazed upon Thassa. Shortly she would see Athreos, and then she would meet Erebos.

Thanks to its low casting cost of just U, Thassa's Ire slips down while you still keep up enough mana to cast a Negate, Dissolve, or Syncopate in constructed. While Flood is cheaper to activate, Thassa's Ire allows you to target creatures with flying.

One fantastic use of Thassa's Ire is in conjunction with inspired creatures. You won't need to worry about an opponent's blocker when you attack with Daring Thief or King Macar, the Gold-Cursed because you'll be able to target whatever roadblock they throw in front of them when you untap them with Thassa's Ire during the combat step.

How will you use Thassa's Ire?
