Thanks to landlord, handicapped dog will lose the only home he's ever known

This is an urgent plea for an adoption or rescue. Thanks to a landlord, a handicapped dog will lose the only home he's ever known. Desperate Dogs of Long Island reported his story.

Meet Spike, a 2-year-old Staffie mix. Spike had the good fortune of finding what he thought was his forever home. He lives in the Long Island, New York area, where he was a happy dog who enjoyed his family.

After being there a year and a half, the landlord where Spike calls home found out about him, and demanded he leave the only home he’s known since he was six months old. Now the family is racing to find Spike a forever family before he ends up in a shelter.

Spike is handicapped, the runt of the litter who was born with deformed legs. Despite this, he’s in good health. He adores children and gets along with other dogs.

If you can offer Spike a forever home, or know of a rescue that will take this sweet boy, please call 516-673-3490. Be sure to share his story, especially with those in the New York area.
