I have been a smartphone user for many years. I currently am using an Android Smartphone and love it dearly. What I love about my phone and what makes it even better is of course the applications and games that I tend to download and use from time to time. I am sure I'm not alone with the many people that sift through an App store whether it is from Apple, Google, or Windows just to see what is there. We often see videos, descriptions, pictures, and prices of these "apps" and then make a final determination to install them. One thing that myself have been guilty of in the past is actually not admiring how that app got there in the first place. It did not magically appear in the app store. It was not made from thin air. Someone, somebody, a whole mass of people even may have gone behind the making process of that app. Yet from time to time we tend to complain about certain things that if I was a developer would make me feel very unappreciated about my developing. And I am not talking about the big name developers like Gameloft, EA, Rovio, or Madfinger. I am speaking of the small people behind independant projects and applications that we love to use daily. Theme designers, Icon designers, Wallpaper designers, rom designers are some of the most hard working people in the business of smartphones today. These are the people that actually cater to the Android community. They spend hours of countless times of their life devoting on things for us all to enjoy on our phones. They do not need to share their work at all. They could develop the fastest and best app for themselves and not share it with us. But yet they do still. And yes some make some profit through donations and paid apps, but honestly time from anyone's personal life could never be measured in money. I have seen too many people on Twitter and in Cell Phone forums worried about delays or updates not coming fast enough. An app will release when it releases. Obviously any developer project can be delayed for a variety of reasons we may never know. A Dev has no guarantee he or she must give status updates on their projects. An app has been delayed for reasons you cant control over not knowing and you trash it constantly? Big deal...I'm sure the majority including ones upset will still use it once it releases, especially if it is better than what they have currently. And you will look silly when you are backing it up after you downplayed only on the basis of you not having it yet. The Saying goes "that we should not bite the hand that feeds us" and I am very fortunate to know that there are people willing to feed my phone appetite and help me make my phone much more enjoyable.
So In Closing please be more aware of the time and effort developers put forth into their applications, wallpapers, icons, and roms. Give them your best feedback in forum threads and through your dedicated App Store rating system. They will listen if they believe that you care. I know I care.
