Thank you Baltimore Ravens for a Super Bowl-winning lunch!

Perhaps I have Joe Flacco to thank for this, after all, he is the MVP of the Super Bowl. Or maybe it was Jacoby Jones with either one of his electrifying touchdowns. I will not, however, thank the people responsible for the lights at the Super Dome. That power outage was a real momentum killer, making it a really close call. Then where would my spectacular Ravens' parade lunch combo have come from?

Thank the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven above that the Ravens did win and I could experience my discounted lunch at David and Dad's Cafe. Located right in midtown Baltimore on Charles Street, David and Dad's is a charming cafe with a colorful chalkboard menu across the wall. The environment is very warm and friendly. They even have an honor system in paying for your meal when you eat in the restaurant. David and Dad's sells mostly American cuisine but it does have a few Greek specialties on the menu as well.

When I dropped by the cafe, the Ravens' Super Bowl parade was in full swing a few blocks up. People were coming to grab a bite to eat, possibly before heading to the stadium for the Super Bowl celebration festivities. I'm a huge Ravens fan, but I wasn't able to go. However, because of their win I was able to get a 95-cent discount on my mmmh mmmh good cheeseburger combo, and I was so grateful.

My non-greasy, wonderfully seasoned fries were delicous and the more than ample juicy cheeseburger came with the works for just five stunning dollars. I had it decorated with melted American cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and hots. Man-oh-man it was some kind of good.

Again, I was grateful. So, it is important to thank those who contribute to your moments of blissfullness, and that's why I want to say thank you Anquan Boldin. You really know how to jump up high and bring that ball down low and secure. Thank you Jimmy Smith. Was it holding? Not holding? Who is to say? Thank you Super Bowl officials for not saying. Thank you Haloti Ngata for holding up the middle with skill and sheer mass until you fell hurt. Thank you John Harbaugh for your guidance and excellent coaching and enduring that annoying Har-Brawl, Bro-Bowl stuff. Thank you Jim Caldwell for accepting the offensive coordinator position and running with it. Who's sorry now Indianapolis Colts?

It took a lot of hard-work by the Ravens and impeccable timing from David and Dad's and the justice system for this collision of coaching, culinary, and civic duty to combine for me. Did I mention I just happened to be downtown for jury duty? The city still hands out fifteen dollars for your time and court-ordered patience so that's why from the bottom of my heart I say thank you Circuit Court of Baltimore City. That lunch was on you! Thank you General Ray Lewis for your galvanizing last ride that infused the will of champions into our team. Thank you Justin Tucker for your steady and effective field goals, and even for that fake-out field goal attempt. Had it worked that would have gone down in the history books. Thank you Ed Reed. I love a good pick and you are full of them.

Thank you Ravens. My lunch was great, and with David and Dad's juror's discount I had my drink for free. What a day! What a day! Thanks David and Dad's Cafe.
