Thank you all. Last year there were over 14,235 hits for my columns, and over 2, 352 hits on the new slideshows. Prior to last year, I was not sure that writing for the Examiner was something I would continue doing. However, it has been so enjoyable for me as a writer and researcher, to find topics to interest you and to write about the communities I call home that I decided to get more involved.
So far this year, we are off to a great start too. Starting two weeks ago, I began a series entitled A Year of Faces and Places in Photography for the Astoria column, and the focus on Feng Shui in the Monterey Home Organizer will continue providing you with ideas for making your home a peaceful, organized sanctuary. Supporting local artists, writers, poets, businesses, and activities is also going to continue, so I invite you to let me know if you have events, art, books or activities you would like me to write about. For the grandparenting column of San Francisco, I’m hoping to have readers share their stories, experiences, ideas, and “aha” moments about parenting and grandparenting. Congratulations to the whole Monterey Peninsula for all the new businesses including Downtown Book and Sound in Salinas and RiversZen Yoga studio in Astoria and the change of status of Pinnacles National Monument to Pinnacles National Park. Congratulations to Astoria for becoming an official U.S. Coast Guard city this January.
Become a subscriber and write me to let me know what you’re thinking about the topics covered, topics you’d like covered, events/activities you want covered, or questions regarding what is contained in the columns. My goal is to support you in your role, in your community, and to that end, I seek your input. Thanks so much to all of you for your ongoing interest and support.
