Thai restaurant in Lakeview neighborhood among those burned

Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood houses an eclectic mix of cultures, which can be seen by its many different restaurants and bars. However, the neighborhood will be forever changed due to a fire that originated in Samah. Samah is a local hookah bar within the building located in the 3300 block of North Clark Street.

ABC News reported, “The fire demolished the building. The building was on the edge of the Lakeview neighborhood and inside the Wrigleyville neighborhood, between the Belmont and Addison-Red metro stops.”

Among the businesses within the building was a much-loved Thai food restaurant, Thai Classic. The other two businesses within the building were Samah and Roadhouse 66.

There hasn’t been an official statement of what was the cause of the fire or how the neighborhood plans to deal with the demolished building. An update will be announced on the status of this story.
