Thai Buddhist monks and civilians murdered on the street

Recent interviews from Human Rights Watch writer Sunai Phasuk describes rampant Sunni Islamic violence in Southern Thailand towards people of all creeds, including civilians, Buddhist monks, Christians, and even other Muslims.

Sunai Phasuk commented that “Buddhist monks have been hacked to death, clubbed to death, bombed and burned to death.”

The object of this jihadic activity is aimed toward turning Thailand into an Islamic state by eliminating everyone that doesn't believe in Islam. Violence is also being seen against Muslims who do not believe in eradicating all non-believers, supposedly endorsed in the Qur'an, Hadith 9:4, which states "Wherever you find infidels kill them; for whoever kills them shall have reward on the Day of Resurrection."

This verse is  debated in the Muslim community. On one site I found a rebuttle to this alleged call for violence that quoted the Quran 5:32, "... whoever slays a soul, unless it be for murder or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew entire mankind; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept entire mankind alive; ..."

Let's hope those that don't believe in the violent interpretation of these verses will speak up within the Muslim community before more innocent civilians, including Muslims like them, are killed.

    Salaam,
Thanks so much for contributing that. I had looked and looked for a resource like that one. Is there a way to know who wrote the commentary?
