Now, getting on Facebook and becoming a fan will help replenish area food banks. TGI Fridays, part of the Bistro Group and the nation's third largest franchisee, announces its fourth annual 'Can for a Fan' virtual food drive benefiting 9 regional food banks.
Through October 15, TGI Fridays will donate one can food to a local food bank for each new Facebook fan. Helping to feed the hungry has never been easier. This promotion is not just limited to the Dayton area, but Cincinnati, Youngstown, Lexington, Louisville, Owensboro, Paducah, Charleston and Pittsburgh. So, spreading the word helps everyone.
"We're thrilled to continue the 'Can for a Fan' campaign for our fourth year," shares Amie Dancu, Director of Marketing for the TGI Fridays franchisee. "The services the community food banks provides in our neighborhoods are critical, and we look forward to giving our support as part of the Bistro Group family's continued commitment to the community. We also look forward to increasing the number of donations we receive through Facebook likes, by adding in our individual location pages to the campaign as well."
With the kick off of TGI Fridays Bartending Championships, fans will have a chance to be a fan of the individuals areas by liking the Facebook page in their local fan page. For each additional like received on the local TGI Fridays pages, an additional canned good will be donated to the local food bank partner in that area. All local fan pages can be found on the 'Can for a Fan' tab placed on each location's Facebook's page.
TGI Fridays will be donating the canned foods to the following area food banks:
The Foodbank in Dayton
Freestore Foodbank in Cincinnati
Daniel Pintino Shelter in Owensboro
Dare to Care in Louisville
Greater Pittsburgh Community Foodbank
God's Pantry in Lexington
Martha's Vineyard Foodbank in Paducah
Mountaineer Food Bank in Charleston
