Toronto FC failed once again to show Columbus Crew who it is that owns BMO Field but their fans seem to be getting the message. After playing to a 1 – 1 draw Saturday afternoon, the home side’s record fell to a miserable no wins, five losses and seven draws against the Crew. That is not the kind of stuff a rivalry is made of.

Despite past results, the Toronto Football Club stooped to a video advert to incite their fans in an attempt to fan the flames of a burned out rivalry. The misguided ad featuring retired captain Jim Brennan insulting the opposition and video of fervent supporters celebrating in a way becoming increasingly difficult to enjoy in their home park, missed the mark even more than the score line.

The chant of this is our house rings a little emptier as the Reds head off to Edmonton for a Wednesday match that begins defense of the Voyageurs Cup and the right to represent Canada in the CONCACAF Champions League.

All the best action photos on the web of Toronto versus Columbus are here right now to fill the between games gap. The Reds move on from Edmonton to Seattle for a Saturday league appointment with the Sounders.
