Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP)

See also

My product pick of the month is Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP). Textured or texturized vegetable protein (TVP), also known as textured soy protein (TSP), soy meat, or soy chunks is a reduced fat soy flour product, a by-product of extracting soybean oil. It is often used as a meat analogue or meat extender. It is quick to cook, with a protein content equal to that of meat.
TVP is so versatile and can be used as a meat substitute in many versions of your favorite vegetarian or vegan dishes, such as spaghetti, chili, sloppy Joes, tacos, burgers, burritos or casseroles. Bon appétit!
