As each day goes by, more breweries are planned and more breweries open across the United States. The past few years have witnessed unprecedented industry growth and today, a large percentage of the population lives within a short drive of at least one major brewing operation. Here in the Houston area, several breweries have open in the last couple of years and this coming weekend, the craft beer community welcomes another newcomer, this time in the nearby suburb of Richmond. It’s a brewery that celebrates not only great beer, but also the men and women who worked diligently to create the Texas we know today. Here are the facts:
Event: Texian Brewing Open House and Tasting
Location: Texian Brewing, 1125 FM-359, Richmond, TX
Date and Time: Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Texian Brewing has been selling its products around the Houston area at taverns, restaurants, and special events for the past year or so, but this is the first time the brewery itself will be open to the public. The brewery has made great strides in a relatively short period of time and already has a canning line and a distribution deal. Houston area craft beer fans have been anticipating the opening of the brewery and now, in March 2014, the time has come to celebrate.
Texian Brewing presently offers four different beers:
- Brutus English style IPA
- Broken Bridge Dunkelweizen
- First Stand Belgian Saison
- Battle Line Brown Ale
This first ever open house will feature the selections above and will carry an admission price of $10 per adult, age 21 and up. The admission price includes a pint glass and three fills. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, blanket, and anything else that could help make the afternoon a little more comfortable, as seating is limited. There will also be food available for purchase, served by a local vendor.
Many generations have passed since the Battle of San Jacinto sealed the fate of a determined state and its people. With Texian Brewing now operating in full swing, Texas craft beer fans can savor the quality of great craft beer while also remembering the heroes and heroines from the state’s storied past. Set aside some time, head to Richmond, Texas this weekend, and create a little history of your own with the state’s newest brewing operation, Texian Brewing.
