Texas senior shepherd with shaved coat: Winds up at shelter lost and dejected

Arlington Animal Services have named her Kimmy; the nine-year-old German shepherd mix was picked up on July 25 on the 5500 block of Manassas in Arlington. Her family had just shaved her thick coat to make her more comfortable during the hot Texas summer.

Although she is a senior, Kimmy has lots of life left; she just needs to get out of the shelter and find some love.

Kimmy, however was left unsupervised and lost her way. Animal Services picked up the confused 44 pound pooch for safe keeping; assured the dog's family would come looking for her, but no one has even called. Now Kimmy's fate hangs by a slender thread as she just lies in her kennel extremely depressed and alone.

According to Partners of Arlington Animal Services, Kimmy must have a rescue or foster arrangement commitment by Saturday afternoon. Please click here for Kimmy's PetCaring link.

Please refer to Kimmy ID#23413311 - AAS - 07/31.

The good news is that this dog is on the VIP Urgent List and her adoption fee is only $25. Adoption fees include sterilization, vaccinations, worming, heartworm test, microchip and 30 days of pet insurance.

A volunteer sadly wrote the following:

"RESHARING KIMMY BECAUSE SHE JUST ISN'T GETTING ENOUGH SHARES. SHE IS SUCH A PRETTY GIRL AND HAS THE SWEETEST LITTLE SAD FACE! JUST NEEDS SOME LOVE AND ATTENTION AND HER TAIL WILL BE WAGGING CONSTANTLY! SHE'D LOVE TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND!"

Please share her story with your friends, family and coworkers. It only takes a moment to forward Kimmy's story to someone; only one special person is needed to give this dog a second chance.
