Texas Sake Company grand opening

The Texas Sake Company is (finally!) celebrating their Grand Opening. On International Sake Day, the Texas Sake Company will release their sakes that they've been brewing up all this time. If you're looking for a day trip in the cooler fall temperatures, this is a good one.

Along with the sake, there will be live music from local musicians, food trucks, a local pottery competition, and a silent auction benefiting tsunami relief for Japan – yes, recovery from that disaster is still ongoing.

Sake is a rice wine and the Texas Sake Company uses 100% Texas rice. They're also the first certified organic sake company in North America.

International Sake Day is October 1 and the Texas Sake Company's Grand Opening will start at 1 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. Texas Sake Company is located at 5501 N. Lamar Blvd in Austin, Texas.

With Austin just a scant three and a half hour drive from Fort Worth, you could even sleep in Saturday morning before heading down there. If you plan to stay for the whole party, though, I suggest getting a hotel room in Austin.

Each ticket includes four samples of hand-crafted Texas Sake. Tickets are limited to ensure that there is enough sake for all guests.

Tickets are on sale now for $25 on the Texas Sake Company's online store. Tickets will also be available at the door for $30. All ages are welcome to the party, but must be twenty-one years or older to taste the sake.
