Texas Revolution gearing up for the 2013 season of the IFL

As the Super Bowl is now just a fading memory, it is now time to concentrate on the IFL (Indoor Football League), and the Texas Revolution of Allen, Texas.

Keeping with the tradition that is football in Texas, the Revolution get the 2013 season started with a pre-season game against the North Texas Crunch of the APFL on February 21, 2013 at the Allen Event Center.

New head coach of the Revolution, Billy Back, is getting his team set for the regular season opener that happens in Cedar Rapids, Iowa against the Titians on March 1, 2013.

Back had an open tryout this past Saturday and saw even more talent than he did back in November. Setting the roster is going to be hard for Back as the regular roaster only holds 25 players - 21active, and four inactive on game days.

As we edge closer to March 1st, Coach Back has a lot of talent to look at in order to make decisions on moving forward for the Revolution.

Of course making the decision to keep one player compared to the next can’t be easy, however knowing Back’s track record (in the CIFL two time league champion 2012 and 2011, and the UIFL league champion 2010), and knowing now the league he is in now, he knows he has to make an impact on with players on the field quickly to have success.

The Revolution’s ownership, that includes Charlie Hildbold, has put all their trust in Coach Back…

We are supremely confident in Coach Back’s ability to build a championship team, and we are looking forward to seeing the fruits of all his labor, with all the scouting over the past three to four months. We are ready to get his squad on the field, and start proving to the rest of the league that we are a championship squad.

With players of the IFL moving around as much as they do, and the introduction of rookies, and new faces to the league, the biggest obstacle has to be chemistry among the players and coaches. That is what has to happen in order to have the success that Back is desperate to build for the new organization, that is the Revolution, that has taken over the Allen, Texas franchise of the IFL.
