It was a frustrating Sunday afternoon in Chicago for the visiting Texas Revolution, and head coach Billy Back, as they lose their second game of the 2013 IFL season to the Slaughter 51-26.
The Revolution went into halftime of this game down 14 points after having the advantage after the first quarter 13-12. However, the Slaughter took advantage of mistakes made by the Revolution’s offense and out scored the Revolution 22-7 in the second quarter, and that is “pretty much all she wrote” as they say in sports.
The Revolution’s defense played well, but could not stop the Slaughter after turnover after turnover, and turnovers on downs, as well as unsuccessful on-side kicks — giving the Slaughter great field position on two occasions.
When looking at the Revolution’s performance at least there is something positive to talk about — the defense. The defense held the Slaughter to a field goal after a turnover. Getting a turnover after the offense turned the ball over, and put pressure on the Slaughter quarterback Cody Kirby.
The offense is another story. They turned the ball over three times with interceptions by Marcus Jackson, and a turnover on downs three times, although the last one was at the end of the game and they were down at that time 51-26.
