It didn’t start off too good for the Revolution. On the first offensive play of the game, Titans Wide receiver Carl Sims was left all by himself for an easy touchdown. A botched snap had LeRon Council scramble throw for a two point conversion, and the Revs were down 8-0 with less than 30 seconds ran off the clock.
Then on the first offensive drive for the Revolution, Josh Floyd fumbled the ball at the Titans 13 yard line and they returned it to the Revolution 14 yard line. The Titans scored three plays later after Spencer Ohm found Xavier Glenn in the back of the end zone for a four yard touchdown making the score 15-0 with 10:37 left in the first quarter.
It didn’t look good for the Revs, but then they came storming back in the game. On a second down and goal from the eight yard line quarterback Jimmy Coy, who spent time in the Chicago Bears training camp, found Josh Floyd in the left end zone on a cross the field pass for a touchdown bringing the score to 15-7.
The Titans added a field goal making the score 18-7, and then it turned into the Frankie Solomon Jr. show.
Solomon Jr. fielded the ensuing kickoff at the Revolution five yard line, and proceeded to find a hole on the near dasherboard and ran it into the end zone for a 45 yard touchdown return making the score 18-13.
After the Revs touchdown, the Revs defense came to play with a big stop on fourth down of the Titans. The Revs would score on a one yard pass play to Clinton Solomon, an off season acquisition from the Sioux Falls Storm, as Coy threw the ball high and with Solomon’s height, he came down with the ball for the touchdown making the score 20-18 in favor of the Revolution.
The Titans would get a field goal after the Revs touchdown making the score 21-20. After that the Revolution took over the game.
Even though the Revolution missed a 36 yard field goal, the Revs defense stepped in. On a Titans second down and ten from their own 5 yard line, Ohm threw an interception to Solomon Jr. as Carl Sims was going deep down the field. Ohm though Sims was going to stop and catch the ball, instead Solomon Jr was there for the pick six making the score 27-21 with 3:38 in the second quarter.
After the pick six, Spencer Ohm was being pressured by the Revs defensive line, and Ohm put up a duck, and Frankie Solomon Jr. came down with an interception at the Titans 20 yards line. Two plays later an eleven yard touchdown pass from Coy to a wide open Clinton Solomon for his second of three total on the night, making the score 34-21 at halftime. Frankie Solomon later in the second half would get another interception.
The Titans made a change at the quarterback position to Dante Perez however, it was to little too late. The Revs defense was stellar in the second half allowing the Titans only 17 points in the second half.
The Revs would tack on two more touchdowns in the second half - one to Clinton Solomon, and one to Josh Floyd, that was a 45 yard touchdown pass from Coy, that he ripped out of the air against a defender all over him. The Revs won this game 47-38.
