Texas police officer stops highway traffic and saves lost dog

Kyle Jones, a La Porte, Texas, police officer saved the life of one little dog who found himself in an extraordinarily dangerous situation on Monday.

According to Wednesday's KENS 5 News, a Chihuahua named "Cujo," slipped out the door of his home on Monday morning and though his family searched for him, he was not immediately found.

Cujo had somehow wandered away from his neighborhood and made his way onto a busy highway.

Cujo was fortunate; before a speeding car prematurely ended his life, he was spotted by Officer Jones, who recognized the pup's imminent danger.

Officer Jones took immediate action.

He told KENS5 News:

“When I saw it and saw the size of it, I immediately hit my lights and shut all the lanes off,”

Thankfully, Cujo allowed Officer Jones to scoop him up and out of harm's way.

A short time later, thanks to the efforts of one compassionate officer, the wayward pup was reunited with his greatly relieved family.
