Update 9/18/13: According to Wednesday's Waco Tribune, Michael Terron Daniel has been sentenced to one year in state jail for his crime.
On Monday, 22-year-old Michael Terron Daniel pleaded guilty for the bizarre and disturbing incident which took place in June 2012.
Daniel was arrested after he "went crazy," and chased down a dog, who was strangled, beaten and partially consumed; the savaged dog died at the scene.
When the authorities arrived to the home, they found Daniel covered in blood on his face and clothes.
Daniel claimed that he was high on the synthetic drug known as "K-2," at the time; K-2 is considered a "designer" drug which is known for creating a quick, intense high, followed by extreme paranoia and acute psychosis.
Prior to Daniel's brutal attack of the dog, he allegedly chased after a neighbor while "barking and growling like a dog."
The case will now be heard before a jury; if convicted, Daniel could face between 180 days and two years behind bars.
