A Texas man was killed in a traffic accident in Volusia County early Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. FHP spokesperson Sgt. Kim Montes says 28-year old Mark Cody Adams of Carrollton, Texas, had stopped along I-4 westbound at mile marker 115 to help another motorist who had run out of gas shortly before 4:30 Thursday morning. Investigating troopers say Adams was standing at the driver’s door of the vehicle he was helping, when another car drifted to the right shoulder of the interstate and struck the parked cars and Adams. Troopers say the crash investigation is ongoing and that charges are pending.
