Texas has proved to be a dominating team on its home court this year.  The Horns are 11-1 in home contests this season. 10 of the 11 wins have been by double figures.  The only loss was to No. 5 ranked Kansas Jayhawks this past weekend.

The Cyclones has its best conference record since 2004.  This is also the first time since 1944 that the Cyclones had two 20 plus point victories on the road.  The Cyclones are undefeated when they out shoot their opponents.  Royce White leads the charge for Iowa State with 13.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

The Cyclones will look to shoot the three point shot especially in transition.  They look to exploit an opponent’s defensive weakness on fast break points.  Chris Allen has made a three-pointer in 17 games and multiple treys 12 times.

The game plan for the Longhorns is to get more players to contribute on offense other than the leading scorer J’Covan Brown.  Brown is averaging 19.5 points a game.  Assistant coach Rob Lanier said, “We have to get Sheldon McClellan to shoot more”.

Lanier on stopping the Cyclones outside shooting, “We have to guard the three point line Royce (White) is the catalyst for a lot of what they do.” The Longhorns will have to limit dribble penetration, find three point shooters in transition and don’t turn the ball over if they are to be successful against defending the Cyclones outside shooting according to Lanier.
