Texas Legends to host the 66ers in Game 1 of the D-League Playoffs

After mounting a furious comeback in the season finale to steal a 134-128 double overtime victory in Austin over the Toros, the Texas Legends (24-26) will get to experience the NBA Development League Playoffs.

The Legends will host the Tulsa 66ers (33-17) in Game 1 of the 3-game series on Wednesday night.  It will be held at HP Court inside Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco.  Game 2 will be on Friday night in Tulsa.  If necessary, the 3rd and deciding game will take place on Sunday in Tulsa.

On Saturday night with the Legends needing a win to make the playoffs, they trailed the Toros by 7 points with 30 seconds remaining in regulation. Huge three point baskets by Booker Woodfox, Justin Dentmon, and Rashad McCants helped send the game into the 1st overtime period.

After battling back and forth for 2 overtimes, the Legends prevailed and will now have an opportunity to play for the D-League championship in their inaugural season.

“I am so proud of my team for making history tonight. They showed character, determination, and a flare for drama in our 2OT win at Austin. It's a happy bus ride home, “ Coach Lieberman posted on Facebook after the playoff clinching victory.

The Legends ended the regular season winning 4 of their final 5 games.  One of those wins included a 105-85 victory on the road in Tulsa. They finished with a 3-5 record in their 8 meetings against the 66ers this season.
