After the surprising success of “Texas Chainsaw 3D” this past weekend, production decided that it couldn’t stop there. On Tuesday, January 8, Leatherface fans are happy to learn that Millennium Films is working on a sequel, Deadline reports.
Despite being the third chapter in this reboot, the sequel is said to be titled “Texas Chainsaw 4” and it is set to begin production later this year in Louisiana. Producing the horror film will be Carl Mazzocone, Mark Burg, Avi Lerner, Tobe Hooper, Trevor Short, John Thompson, Danny Dimbort, Lati Grobman, and Christa Campbell.
“Lati and Chrisa brought the idea of this franchise to us. They were certain of the audience appeal, so we signed on,” Millennium Films chariman Avi Lerner tells the source. “And it turns out they were right. It was a bloody good decision. Lionsgate agreed to distribute the film in the US, and did a fantastic job. We very much hope to partner with them for the next chapter.”
