2013 was a big year for craft beer across the great state of Texas. New breweries opened, new products were introduced, and new faces made their way into the craft beer scene. Some of the newer breweries had to kick into high gear as demand for their products increased faster than expected and one of those newer breweries is ready to celebrate a successful 2013 year. Here are the facts:

Event: Texas Big Beer 2nd Anniversary celebration

Date and Time: Saturday, January 18, at 12 p.m.

Location: Texas Big Beer Brewery, 400 County Road 3136, Buna, Texas

Texas Big Beer is a small but rapidly growing operation located northeast of Beaumont in the Big Thicket region. The brewery came to life on January 18, 2012 and has witnessed surprising growth in its first two years. The brewery management expected a 50% increase in sales in 2013, but wound up expanding by an amazing 274% instead- a tribute to the rapid growth in the craft beer industry and to Texas Big Beer’s quality products and committed staff.

Texas Big Beer plans to celebrate its birthday and 2013 business results this weekend with a tour and free tasting at its country brewery. Owners/founders John and Tammy McKissack (a.k.a. “The Queen”) are ready to walk guests through the brewing process, introduce members of their hard- working staff, and answer questions about the success of the past year and the many opportunities that lie ahead. Several beers will flow from the taps and hotdogs and sausage links will be served during this second birthday celebration.

Texas Big Beer is a little out of the way and interested individuals should consult the web site for exact directions to the brewery. It is located at 400 County Road 3136, Buna, TX 77612, about a mile off of highway 62 and six miles north of Mauriceville. It will be a fun and informative afternoon, so set aside some time and make your way to east Texas this Saturday.
