Texas Attorney General Sues Cyber Monday Comparison Websites

Website under construction

Today Everyprice.com shows an "under construction" icon on thier website because they are currently pending legal action. Attorney General Greg Abbott has brought legal action against two price comparison websites, Intercept and Everyprice.com. These are price comparison websites that were misleading about value and bargain. They were paid for higher rankings on products, this was a cash for value scheme. These websites were represented as neutral and unbiased and were advertising items that were independant, reliable, and trustworthy. That was not even true. The result was the price consumers paid, and they didn't get the bargain they thought would get. Intercept will cease doing business and/or pay the state $300,000. Everyprice.com will pay civil penalties $20,000 per violation, attorney fees, and proved restitution for consumers in Texas who lost money.
