Next month a new and exciting outlet for art supplies opens at 1230 Houston Ave., Houston. No artist will want to miss this since we are all known for our ingenuity in obtaining materials for our creations.

Founded on the idea that Houston lacks and outlet for artists, educators, and crafters in search of high quality reclaimed materials, the Texas Art Asylum offers an ever-changing inventory of creative reuse.

Craft, thrift, antique store or salvage yard, Texas Art asylum promises to be the hot spot for all creatives. They are collecting materials from businesses, institutions and individuals which are suitable for reuse instead of refuse. Image what the next life of an article will be and what wonderful art the Houston artist community will make from this stuff.

There will always be something new and interesting dotting the isles and project sheets available for suggested uses. There will even be workshops provided and structured educational opportunities in conjunction with the Center for Recycled Art.

Check their website for a list of accepted items and while there join the mailing list.
