In Mailin’s SouthCoast Talent MGMT portfolio she writes, “I love acting and have the ability to change my voice and accent as well as my physical appearance to suit the part. Getting lost in the character is a real rush.” Mailin is also fluent in German in speaking and writing.

The 15 year-old actor’s growing list of accomplishments includes acting in theater in The Crucible, Sisters, The Rivals, and Emergency, among other creative endeavors.

Mailin is self-taught and skilled in movie makeup as can be seen in the slide show for this article.

Classes she has taken at PASA include; Production Acting, Monologue Study, Scene Study, Character Building, and Acting on Film. She has also taken ballroom dancing lessons and additional training elsewhere.

Performing Arts of San Antonio offers acting classes, voice studio, music studio, and theater, along with summer acting camps.

PASA founders Paul Tinder and Vaughn Taylor are experienced acting instructors and have starred in 650 episodes of national TV shows, and over 400 national commercials all filmed in New York and Hollywood.

According to the founders, “We share the invaluable lessons learned through actually being successful in the Performing Arts, not just reading a book. We continually consult with both students and parents on the opportunities and pitfalls of the industry.”

Thanks to the instruction and involvement of PASA, Mailin recently acted as the female lead in a short film titled Dusk Ward 13.

Of additional interest, the film was written by her sister Jarmila Gupta who is a student at the University of North Texas. Jarmila is a Psychology major but writes extensively in her spare time. Hearing impaired since early childhood, she is a member of the German National Swim Team. Her accomplishments include medal winner in the Deaflympics of 2009 in Taiwan, and multiple medal winner in the World Championships and European Championships of the Deaf.

Jarmila has a large online following of her written work that may be read in her writing archives.
