The Houston Texans home known as Reliant Stadium, will now be getting a face lift of sorts, with a new name change.

The property known as Reliant Park will now be known as NRG Park, and Reliant Stadium now called NRG Stadium, after the NRG Energy company. NRG is one of Houston's largest electric retailers.

Reliant purchased a 32 year agreement that required them to pay $10 million per year, with 75% going to the franchise, and 15% going to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

In 2002 Reliant bought the naming right to the stadium and the other surrounding properties for approximately $300 million.

The Texans are continuing to move forward in a new direction, and the name change is just the beginning of a new era for the team.
