After losing 14 straight games, the Houston Texans are assured of the number one pick in the NFL Draft in May.

The Texans could begin their new era with a new coach to be named by sometime this coming week, according to Texans owner Bob McNair.

"We got in a whirlwind, and it never ended," Phillips said of the losing streak.

The Texans opened the game on a high a note with a 3 yard run from running back Jonathan Grimes for the early 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

With two field goals by Titans kicker Rob Bironas, the Texans defense prevented them from entering the end zone and maintained a 7-6 halftime lead.

Chris Johnson gave the Titians the lead with an 11 yard touchdown run in the third quarter. He joined elite company in the second quarter off a 23 yard run, when he became the sixth player in NFL history to acquire 1000 yards for each of his first six seasons.

Trailing the Titans 16-10 in the fourth quarter, the Texans had an opportunity to win the game, but Matt Schaub over threw a pass that was intercepted by Michael Griffin.

The Texans season couldn't end sooner for most of the players and coaches on staff.

I'm sure a lot of guys, just like me, are ready to move on and get to work in the off season and never let this happen again," JJ Watt said.

Andre Johnson caught six passes for 49 yards in the loss.

Titans coach Mike Munchak, uncertain about his job future with the team. "I think I have a good feel for what needs to be done. That's what we'll talk about the next few days, and we'll find out how they want to go forward."

Matt Schaub finished 22/34 for 229 yards and two interceptions in the loss.
