Tetrad blood moons: is this the sign foretold in the Bible for our time?

Tetrad moons (four consecutive lunar eclipses) coincided with ominous Jewish and Christian history.
Tetrad moons (four consecutive lunar eclipses) coincided with ominous Jewish and Christian history.

A somber warning appears multiple times in the Bible concerning astronomical signs in the sun, moon, and stars foretelling of ominous events. There are historical records documenting signs in the heavens accompanying significant events in both Jewish and Christian theological happenings.

There were signs in the heavens during the tenure of the prophet Moses. There were signs registered during the struggles of Joshua. There was a sign for King Hezekiah’s disposition. There was the appearing of a great light or star in the heavens to guide secular wise men on their journey to Bethlehem.

In Luke 21: 25, 27-28, there is a warning regarding signs in the cosmos which would be a precursor to the appearing of the Son of man, a prediction Jesus made to His disciples on the Mount of Olives. The accuracy of the predictions of Christ has been 100% with events that have transpired into our century.

One of the more bold predictions of Christ involved the statement “this generation will not pass away until all is fulfilled” invokes a convergence of events taking place. Theologians tend to agree that the prophetic clock began ticking with Israel becoming a nation in 1948, and the Jews assuming control of Jerusalem in 1967 for the first time since Titus sacked the Holy City in 70 AD.

Both 1948 and 1967 events took place during a four blood moon interval.

Of particular interest are the upcoming Tetrad blood moons, a rare event that has taken place only seven times in the last recorded 500 plus years. The upcoming tetrad moons will be the last of this century according to NASA.

Like clockwork previous Tetrad blood moons have coincided with important events in Jewish and Christian history. The four blood moons of 1493-1494 AD heralded the conclusion of the Spanish Inquisition with the expulsion of the Jews from Spain. Christopher Columbus, a Jew, avoided the expulsion order of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella by leaving Spain only hours before the command went into effect.

As with other blood moons, the astronomical lunar eclipses fell on Passover and Feast of Trumpets which are important Jewish observances.

During the Passover and Feast of Tabernacles of 1949-1950, the four blood moons marked the birth of Israel in 1948 and the first Arab-Israeli War which was fought from May 15th, 1948 until March 10, 1949. Jerusalem went under the control of the Jordanians making it the last Gentile nation that would conclude a plethora of other foreign nations which held the Holy City for nearly 2000-years as declared by Jesus.

The tetrad blood moons ushered in the Six Day War in 1967 where Israel miraculously overcame great odds against an Arab coalition army determined to destroy Israel. A convergence of other world events took place in a volatile 1968 which included the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy.

Once again Passover and Feast of Tabernacles highlighted the 1967-1968 Tetrad moons.

There are four blood moons scheduled for 2014-2015, and once again, the Tetrad moons fall on Passover, April 15th of this year, Feast of Tabernacles October 8th of this year, Passover on April 4th, 2015, and Feast of Tabernacles, September 28, 2015. Two solar eclipses will also take place during this period of time. It will be the last time this century a Tetrad moon will take place.

The convergence of other prophecies point to perilous times as world events appear to be accelerating to the conclusions predicted in the various books of Daniel, Joel, Ezekiel, and articulated by Jesus in the five gospels. The author of Acts, believed to be Luke, and John of Jesus’ inner circle of disciples all posted warnings about signs in the heavens foreshadowing the great and terrible day of the Lord.

One does not know the day or the hour, but the Bible also advises followers that the day should not catch you unaware.

Laying out the stipulations by Jesus from Matthew and Luke clearly point to a consolidation of events that will be taking place that will usher in the season when the return of Christ should take place. The unrest of the Middle East, the rumors of war, the acceleration of persecution of Christians, and the world’s increasing animosity towards Israel are all signs that will be present during the closing chapter of human history outlined in the Bible.

Jerusalem is the “hook in the jaw” to nations where God has already turned those hating Israel over to their evil lusts and desires to destroy God’s plan for the Jews and Christians.

God has plainly declared in Psalm 137:5 of His plan for Jerusalem and no other conspiracy will succeed in wrestling Jerusalem away from what God has already ordained.

In Jeremiah 31:37 God makes this declaration, “if the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the Earth searched out beneath, I will cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done”.

As we build bigger telescopes, the universe also is found to be bigger. Our exploration of the oceans is hardly any better than our exploration of the cosmos. Both of these facts substantiates Jeremiah 31:37.

The tetrad moons could well be the final heavenly sign.
