Think you have what it takes to be a Master Chef? Find out at the open MasterChef casting calls on October 12.
Hold your horses before you rush to sign up. You already need to have a stellar recipe that will wow the judges because you need to bring that with you to the casting call, hot and ready to plate, and you also must bring your own plating, utensils and any garnishes you may need. There will not be any place to heat your food or otherwise cook it before showcasing it.
This year, the audition is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Doubletree Suites Hotel in the Galleria area. Parking on site will cost you $17. Before you go, you should fill in the online application, which you can find at MasterChefCasting.com. It is best to get this finished before the audition day. Any other instructions or answers to questions you may have about the audition can be found at the FAQs page here.
The only qualifications you must have are that you are a US citizen, over 18 and not earning income for cooking in any capacity. If you are an adult, amateur cook with talent, you can come out to the MasterChef casting call. This call out includes people who prefer grilling burgers to Nouveau Cuisine as well as those interested in making fine spa cuisine or cooking international dishes at home.
Just as a final note, those running the MasterChef casting calls ask that you not bring any children under 13 to the auditions. They will not be allowed inside.
Can you go toe-to-toe with Gordon Ramsay and the other MasterChef judges? See if you can at the MasterChef casting calls on Saturday.
