Terumah: Within Without

The instructions for the making of the Mishkan are given here in Parasha Terumah.  The express purpose for this Mishkan is for the holding of the testimony that will be given on high.

Shemos 25: 16. And you shall place into the ark the testimony, which I will give you.

There is a special place within where holiness is the center of connection between above and below.  Within this place there the Shechinah brings about the realization of that holy connection.  The key to this holy connection and the agency of the Shechinah is the testimony that is placed into the ark.

Shemos 25: 21. And you shall place the ark cover on the ark from above, and into the ark you shall place the testimony, which I will give you.

The ark cover has already been planned to be overlaid with gold.  Once this overlay is established only then will the testimony be placed within.

The keys to holiness are surrounded by the golden cover. This cover represents our thoughts of Torah or the testimony that is within the ark. This passage represents not only what we have discovered but the way in which this discovery has taken place.

In other words it isn't just what we are thinking but the process which has led us into this particular way of thinking that assumes it role of importance signified by the golden cover.

Shemos 25:22. I will arrange My meetings with you there, and I will speak with you from atop the ark cover from between the two cherubim that are upon the Ark of the Testimony, all that I will command you unto the children of Israel.

The testimony, (HaAidoos) once secure in the ark now has the power to act as a channel for Hashem to be in higher communication with via the cherubim or the messengers of Hashem everything that will now be told to the children of Israel.

Let's take this from the last part going in sequence backwards.  The children of Israel represent our everyday thoughts.  These thoughts are the ones that must be transformed on high.  Now the words of Torah communicated by Hashem to Moshe represent those inner truths that fill us with the sense of connection.  Moshe in this allusion symbolizes the way shower for these higher thoughts.  It is device that Consciousness uses to establish itself on high.

Moshe then becomes the certainty of connection resulting in divine communication.  This divine communication is the unity of purpose that we are seeking to understand and through the intermediaries of the Cherubim who are the holy messengers of thoughts raised on high we may enter into this holy conversation within.

As a result of these holy conversations our mundane thoughts are transformed one by one into centers of connection that communicate on high.  As these thoughts are transformed the agency of the Shechinah is invoked which reinforces that connection with a burst of feeling, a revelation of knowing that in effect tells us that we are on the right track.

What happens then is a matter of acute listening for more of the same so that this transformative process will be ultimately continuously promoted.  The end result here is nothing less than the arrival Moshiach which is effect of the cause of transformation that takes shape in the first place via all of the instructions that are given for the making of the Mishkan.  May we follow through without stopping this holy work.  B"H.
