Terumah: Dwelling Within

How do you find something that exists only as a spiritual prerogative?  Better still how can you describe something that is concealed and only shows itself in flashes of recognition which may quite easily be dismissed as something passing, illusory or ethereal?

These are the questions that the holy Zohar seeks to uncover and yet while still speaking in obscure terms we nonetheless interpret their language and meaning as best we can relying upon the symbols of Kabbalah to be both our guides and signposts along the way.

Zohar Terumah (2:127a) "As for that radiance, bliss for concealed bliss, within it were embroidered and fashioned six designs, know only to that subtle light upon entering to be hidden-bliss within bliss, radiance in radiance.  This radiance issuing from subtle radiance is fearsome, awesome, and extremely powerful (Daniel 7:)

This expanded, becoming one world illumining all worlds-a concealed world, completely unknown, inhabited by sixty million dwellers, cores, supernal camps.  Once it had generated them-completed as one-then (127a) a single union; they are mystery of the letter van joined with that concealed world.

We are still speaking about the Shechinah and its operations throughout the pattern of awareness referred to as the Sephiros.  Within this pattern of awareness we may note the various distinctions that are given to each of their parts so that we can apply these qualifications to their corresponding features within Consciousness.

The 'radiance' that is spoken of in the above passage refers to the ever expanding nature of the connectedness of what flows through reality becoming as it does so everything that is inherent within its highest being.

It becomes in effect 'bliss within concealed bliss,' meaning that it reaches the highest stages of merging.  Bliss is the connotation of merging with the divine and then overflowing.  Through this process of merging then and overflowing the Shechinah makes its influence felt throughout the pattern of awareness.

There out of the highest awareness that knows itself (bliss within concealed bliss) also configured as the upper Sephiros of Chokmah, Binah and Keter comes through Binah what is called Zeir Anpin which are the six Sephiros from Binah through Yesod.

What is taking place here is the inner transcendence of thought that upon realization of its higher connection flows through with intelligence guided along the way by the Shechinah.  As mentioned before this is the 'radiance within radiance' that is in effect the flowing through of unity throughout each separate part.

This radiance is known as 'fearsome, awesome, and extremely powerful' because it cannot be stopped or even distracted from its goal of unification.  Its action is inexorable since it remains the integral mesh within the main design.

In this way all the worlds of possibilities do take shape as alluded to in the 'sixty million dwellers, cores and supernal camps,' referring to latticework of intention, its foundation and its higher purposes respectively.

All of this is referenced here in the shorthand of Kabbalah as the letter vav which having the numerical value of six represents the six Sephiros.  It also therefore ties itself to YH, or yud heh found here…'For Jacob has chosen Yah (YH) for himself (Psalms 135:4).  Vav is also the connecting link between the 'supernals' Chokmah and Binah and Malchus which references 'cores' in the verse above.

The 'vav' joins with the concealed world meaning it joins with the above in order to bring forth that which is coming to be.  In this way it is 'completed as one, the single union.' The answer then to how your find something that you cannot see is to recognize that it always is there within like the man who loses his glasses on top of his head.  B"H
